Trustlane Automotive is looking for a licensed Smog Technician who is confident, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, professional shop. Speed of service and a high sense of urgency are what set us apart, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in that environment.

This role is ideal for a technician who knows their craft, takes ownership of their work, and wants to be rewarded for performance.

Position Requirements

  • Valid California Smog Technician License
  • Strong ability to diagnose and repair emissions-related and drivability issues
  • Solid understanding of OBD-II systems and engine/emissions controls
  • Able to self-manage — no micromanagement, no hand-holding
  • Works with urgency while maintaining accuracy and safety
  • Organized, accountable, and consistent in daily production
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Performing California smog inspections accurately and efficiently
  • Diagnosing vehicles that fail smog tests
  • Completing emissions and related mechanical repairs when needed
  • Clearly documenting inspection results and repair recommendations
  • Working with a team that values speed, communication, and respect

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • No weekends

Compensation

  • $60,000 – $110,000+ annual earning potential
  • Production-based (flat-rate) pay
  • Performance-driven: the more efficiently you work, the more you make
  • Steady workflow with real opportunity to produce
